What You Need to Know About Hockey Inline Skates

If you play inline hockey then you know how important it is to have good hockey inline skates. You want your hockey inline skates to be comfortably fitting, yet be sturdy and dependable. While hockey inline skates will look similar to your everyday, run of the mill inline skates (or roller blades), there are important differences.

Hockey inline skates will more than likely lace up, unlike regular inline skates which have a clip system. Normally you will find inline skates made with plastic, but hockey inline skates are made with aluminum or other metals, making them stronger. Wheels on hockey inline skates are closer together making them much easier to turn. Also, you will find that great hockey inline skates with the back wheels larger than the front wheels are very popular. The most noticeable difference between hockey inline skates and regular inline skates is that the hockey inline skates do not have a brake. Players stop by turning their skates at an angle.

When you go to try on your hockey inline skates, keep in mind that they are sized differently than your shoe size. The boxes should tell you what shoe size the skates are made for, but if they don't you should probably try skates that are about a size and a half smaller than your shoe size. When trying on the quality hockey inline skates, make sure you wear the socks you would wear while playing, so you can judge how comfortable the fit is.

Once you are ready to purchase your hockey inline skates, head on over to RollerHockeyMonkey.com. Here, you will find a wide selection of different brands of hockey inline skates for men, women and kids. You can also find information on other inline hockey gear as well.
